Edward Selig Salomon was a Prussian immigrant to the United States who served as a Union Brigadier general in the American Civil War, became the governor of the Washington Territory and a California legislator. Mr. Salomon was born in 1836. He immigrated to the United States in 1856 and settled in Chicgo, IL. He became one of the youngest elected aldermen of the Sixth Ward in 1861.
